Safety IS the Culture

Building a Culture of Safety at Petronash

In life as in work, safety should be considered more than a compliance requirement. And, at Petronash we live this belief every day – viewing it is a shared value embedded into every aspect of our operations.

Making safety a collective responsibility across the organization is #1 on our list of priorities – something we do by facilitating clear accountability, recognition for safe behaviours, and transparent consequence management.

Take for example our “Beat the Heat” campaign which addressed the risks of heat stress during peak summer months through awareness sessions, certified training on early symptom recognition, interactive quizzes, and employee engagement activities. Welfare measures such as shaded rest areas, hydration points, cooling stations, and strict adherence to the UAE Midday Break Rule ensured holistic care of our teams.

And this safety-first mindset is applied to every aspect of the workplace, extending into the field with mandatory Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided to every employee, helmets, goggles, protective coveralls, safety shoes, gloves, hearing and respiratory protection. Our eye for attention ensures that role-specific gear is provided for specialized tasks such as welding, chemical handling, and work at height. All safety equipment undergoes rigorous inspection, certification, and timely replacement to ensure reliability. These small actions reinforce the major importance of awareness, proactive thinking, and responsibility at every level.

And, as they say – the proof is in the pudding. Petronash recently achieved the prestigious Taqdeer 5-Star Award for outstanding labor welfare, safety, and employee well-being. We also celebrated 4 million safe man-hours without a Lost-Time Incident (LTI), underscoring the effectiveness of our proactive safety programs. Making the pudding even sweeter is our continued accreditation in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards, along with the successful implementation of an integrated Business Management System across Dubai, Dammam, and Qatar, reflecting our maturity and consistency in HSE practices.

From leadership commitment to employee engagement, proactive hazard identification, structured training, and continuous improvement, our safety culture is designed to be robust and resilient. As our 25th year anniversary inches closer, this safety-first approach remains a cornerstone of ‘The Petronash Way’!

With gratitude,

The Petronash Team
